Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman. Buss is the sole owner of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association and currently serves as its president. Buss is a native of California was raised with an extremely wealthy life. Jerry Buss, her father, was an entrepreneur with a real estate business who later was the owner of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. The emotional strain she felt was exacerbated as her parents divorced in the year 1972. As a 19-year-old she inherited her role as General Manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as the General Manager. Later, she established an organization called the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. The position she held was President of Great Western Forum prior to becoming vice-president for the Lakers. Her father passed away in 2013 and his controlling ownership of the Lakers was transferred to Buss as well as her siblings by a trust of the family that gave each sibling an equal vote. Her duties were assumed as president of Los Angeles Lakers. Buss has also been a owner of a portion of Women of Wrestling (a Los Angeles-based pro-wrestling association).
