April Ross
April Ross was one of just a handful of women beach volleyball athletes who earned medals at several Olympics. In Tokyo over the next several days, she'll try to net her third medal alongside the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic gold medal. And at the age of 39, this could be her final chance to accomplish this. Nevertheless, she remains confident of achieving top honours. Ross was reported in NBC Boston as saying that If you put in your highest, and even perform well, you will win the gold. This is also an issue of luck. Ross was born the 22nd, 1982 at Costa Mesa California. She lived there with her family. Ross went on to play in many activities during her time at Newport Harbor High School. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball along with basketball, track and running. She was clearly the best at the sport of indoor volleyball. As per her biography in high school, she was a volleyball player as an outside setter (middle blocker) and the setter (outside blocker). Her efforts were recognized when she was named 1999 Gatorade's National Circle of Champions players of the year. The skills she showed in volleyball also brought her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in the year 2000. Ross and Klineman have been doing what they do in the year 2017. The reality is that Ross played a significant role in the beach volleyball scene before joining the duo. In reality, she was a winner of numerous major events with two different partners, among them the volleyball legend. From 2007 to 2013 she played by Jennifer Kessy, who is now her coach. Kessy and Ross were an impressive force on the international circuit, winning the world championship in 2009 with each other. They won a Silver Medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team as well as Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor as she left the team. The duo won bronze in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics in 2016. After high school and several years prior to hitting the sand professionally, Ross played with the Trojans of USC as a collegiate. She had a great run through the NCAA tournament. The year 2000 was her freshman year. saw her earn the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman's of the award and become an All-American. Her Trojans also reached the Final Four. Her personal tragedy was a crushing loss during her sophomore year however she was able to return in the ranks of an All-American. Over the course of her final two seasons, she took the Trojans up the mountain and clinched consecutive national championships. In 2003-2004, Ross was named the best collegiate female volleyball player in America through the Honda Sports Award. Ross played international relations as a major at USC. Margie Ross was never able to witness her daughter's rise to beach volleyball fame. Ross's mother passed away from cancer of the breast when she was a sophomore at USC. She is devoted to her mother who died. Margie is a source of inspiration throughout her life, as well as on the beach.
